I was selected to be part of the team that represented Uganda at the above mentioned Global Climate Change Alliance Plus – GCCA + event. I was to deliver a wealth of my Local experience on the Project. Others on the Team included the FAO GCCA Project Manager in Uganda, Mr. Kennedy Igbokwe (he made the presentations for Uganda GCCA), Mr. Chebet Maikut, UNFCCC Focal Point for Uganda and Commissioner, Climate Change Department and Ms Jalia Kobusinge Operations Adviser Sustainable Development European Union. I am positive that our voice was heard and the Farmer Field School Concept Uganda pioneered was appreciated and actually lauded. The general consensus is that Uganda should continue the good job See appended details of the Global Event.
I appreciate FAO Uganda for selecting me, the European Commission for funding my travels and stay at the Event, and of Course the European Union, especially Ireland and the Kingdom of Belgium, for funding Uganda’s GCCA Project. Mubende District is one of the 6 Central Cattle Corridor Districts where this Project is implemented. Your support to me and this Project is also greatly appreciated,
Yours in Service,
District Natural Resources Officer- Mubende/ GCCA- DFPP
As Climate Change forces farmers into Environmentally fringe areas such as wetlands, Conservation Agriculture, such as planting basins and Contour ridging has come to the forefront. Spatial location of the project areas is a new development thanks to GCCA provided KMS equipment.
